Waffle Dogs

I lied....I forgot that I hadn't posted on the local waffle scene....this will be my last post. In my quest to identify new species of waffles I located one a couple blocks from my hotel. The place is called Pure Waffle and has a variety to pick from. Below is a photo of the new waffle species....apparently it's a hybrid of a hot dog and waffle.

Until next time

Well, this will probably be my last post for this TDY as I leave tomorrow afternoon for the states. Today I hung around town and started off at the British Museum. There was an exhibit with China's terracotta army artifacts. They've been hyping it up around town stating that they had more then 120 artifacts. I was thinking this meant there were close to 120 terracotta statues but I was sadly mistaken. All in all there were maybe a dozen terracotta people/statues while the rest were objects found with in the site. I guess it's kind of cool to say that I've seen a few of them but over all I was kind of disappointed. Prior to touring the exhibit ( I had a time entrance) I checked out the rest of the place and saw some interesting things. One of the other exhibits was the history of pottery and a several pieces were Red Wing Pottery. Who would have thought that some day Minnesota pottery would make it into a British museum?

Otherwise I headed over to the Tower Bridge to tour it and I've gotta say it was one of my favorite things on this trip (and one of the cheapest!). You actually go up in one tower and cross over the top two skyways and come back down the other side. The view was great and they had these little open windows so you don't get that annoying window glare when you take a picture.

Bath time!

Sorry for not posting yesterday. As you can see by my other post I pretty much was running around all day and didn't have time to upload any photos. Today I took a trip out to Bath which is known for it's historic baths fed by three hot springs. Once there I took a tour of the Roman baths. Basically it was a ye olde spa....guess they were just ahead of the curve.

I also went to Sally Lunn's house which is the oldest standing house in Bath dating back to 1492. Sally Lunn is also know for her ye olde buns which I tried with some chocolate butter. They weren't bad but I don't think they were worth the 3 pounds I paid. Anyway, here's a few photos from there.

God save the Queen

On Saturday I ventured out to Windsor Castle and Eton. Not a whole lot to say about it but it was a nice trip out of the city. The castle was interesting to see and you could tour about half of it. Unfortunately you weren't allowed to talk photos inside so I'm unable to show you the gaudiness that it is. Just think Donald Trump's place and you're getting close.

That night I went and saw Spamalot at the Palace theater. The seat wasn't too bad but the show was great. I just wished I would have paid attention to the Monty Python movies more when Shanna would show them!

Here are a few photos from Windsor/Eton.
