TMI

I just saw for the second time this commercial for tampons that was entirely too much information. The whole ad was shot from the vagina's point of view through out the day. yeah, too much information.

Extreme Sports

Europe seriously needs to get some new sports. The ESPN equivalent here has been running the exciting sports of Darts and pool....yeah. It not so much that they have them on tv it's how psychotic the people. For example you would have thought the the guys playing darts were wrestlers the way they were playing things up. This one guy has a stage name, cape and everything when he came walking out of a cloud of smoke. Then during the game they would pause and do these dramatic profiles of the dart players. They would have the wife sitting in the forefront with the husband in the back. he of course is lit up while the rest of the shot is dark. The wife also talks about all the hard training and sacrifices they've had to make. Yeah, it must have been hard going down to the local pub, having a couple of drinks and tossing a couple of darts at the board.

Triple threat

If it isn't bad enough that I have to watch for cars on the streets here you add in some trams and bikes and you have a triple threat on the road. The cars are actual the least of my problems here as most people don't have them. The bikes are the vicious ones around here....everyone has one and I mean everyone. I guess it's good for exercise and all but they're all over the place and they sneak up on you. In a fairly close second would be the trams. There's nothing separating them on the roads so it would be pretty easy to get run down if you're not watch. Making all of this worse is it's hard to tell where the sidewalk/bike path/tram way/roads begins and ends. It all just bleeds into each other. Definitely can't be going to those other coffee shops if you want to stay alive on the roads around here.

good vs evil

I've learned a few things since being in Amsterdam. One of them being not all coffee shops are good. I found for the most part those spelled the American way are the bad "coffee shops" while the ones spelled Koffie are the good ones. Course there are always excepts as shown below so always be careful when looking for a real coffee shop.

Good coffee shop.....

hallo van Holland

Today I did a tour some of the surrounding areas. The first stop was Voldendam, one of the oldest fishing towns in Holland. Next stop was a traditional cheese farm, followed but a traditional wooden shoe maker and last were some windmills. Yay for windmills!

Three hour tour

Instead of a hop on, hop 0ff tour bus that I usually take while visiting cities I took the boat version through the canals of Amsterdam. I've got to say it probably was one of the best tours I've ever had. The only down side was the weather was absolutely freezing!! The boat was covered but walking in between and everything kept me cold all day. Now I'm used to the cold weather but this was the type to cut right through everything and chilled you to the bone. Here are a few of the photos from yesterday.

Waffle hunt

I found another breed of waffles yesterday. They live in cabins and are little square waffles that are dipped in chocolate. Haven't tried one yet but they sure look good.
